Involved in the issues that affect her community, Becky has represented her neighborhood and worked with homebuilders, business owners and government entities; including the Paradise Town Board, the Clark County Planning Commission and the Clark County Commission at a time when Clark County was growing rapidly to resolve a variety of zoning issues.
Having raised two children in Las Vegas, Becky is keenly aware of the difficulties facing public schools in Clark County. Concerned with the accelerated growth her area schools were experiencing, she became involved in a variety of topics that affected schools. Harris worked as a parent volunteer with the Attendance Zone Advisory Commission (AZAC) to find solutions to overcrowding problems at her children’s schools. It was at this time that she drafted proposed legislation regarding a “second” count day. The second count day resolved funding shortfalls that resulted in high growth areas because of increased student registrations after the school year initially began. Becky served on Sunset Council PTA (Sunset Council PTA merged with Lake Mead PTA). She also worked as the Parent Liaison for Silverado High School when overcrowding issues affected High Schools in her area in 2009.
Becky understands the business climate in Las Vegas, Nevada. For the past 9 years she has assisted her husband in running his small businesses. Becky routinely addresses employee related concerns, satisfies compliance requirements, and fulfills state and county entity requests.
Becky Harris currently practices law at The Law Offices Of Patrick Driscoll. Her areas of focus include family and contract law, loan modification and mediation. Of particular importance to Becky is assisting clients who are financially distressed. Becky is an appointed mediator for the Nevada Foreclosure Mediation Program and is effective in assisting homeowners and banks resolve their differences.
After moving to Las Vegas since 1998, Becky pursued a Master’s Degree in Political Science at UNLV. While at UNLV, she taught several sections of Political Science 101 as a graduate assistant. Her Thesis Committee included former U.S. Congresswoman Dina Titus, and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Jay Bybee.
Becky attended law school at J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, graduating in 1992. She also also studied Political Science and French at Brigham Young University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1989.
Becky supported her husband during his service to our country in the US Army. She focused on teaching at or near his military posts. Becky found time to teach speech and business law classes at Miller Motte Business College in Tennessee; political science and basic law courses at Ft. Irwin for Barstow Community College, Embry-Riddle, Golden Gate University, and Park University.
An avid fan of swimming, Becky enjoys watching her daughter compete.
